I had a fantastic 3 days at the little cabin on the island. the cabin was beautiful and every detail has been thought of and the location on the lake is amazing. I spent my time kayaking, bird watching, swimming, and exploring. Kent was a wonderful host and I will definitely be back.

This was exactly what we needed after our busy wedding weekend. It was the perfect place to disconnect and relax. Beautiful place and our dog loved the freedom of roaming the island.

Our stay at the cabin was a true pleasure. We came with our pup in the hope of being in and on the water from morning till night, and unfortunately it was raining our entire stay! However, we had come prepared with games, and dipped into the Ackley's store as well.. my teenagers hadn't played Pictionary before and we all laughed a lot! The solar lights and wood stove served us well, and the hammocks were in regular use. We did pop out onto the water in between showers, getting in a few paddles and some exploring on the shore, as well as a short trip to Big Sustainable Island - complete with rope swinging. One clear evening allowed for grilling as well as a fire pit with some marshmallow roasting. It was a risky decision to stay in this remote, off-grid place with two teenagers, but we all agreed it was a huge success!

Honestly this is a place you have to visit. It’s quite magical! Everything has been meticulously thought about and you’re provided with everything you need for a complete “switch off”. Advise you to bring the wherewithal to campfire cook - great fun and relaxing to have to go to the pace of a fire. Thank you Kent for your dedication.

A truly peaceful and amazing place. Relax, recharge, reset.
Kent and Jo have a wonderful island getaway with enough creature comforts and plenty of solitude.

The Ackleys are excellent hosts. They clearly care about what they are doing; the cabin was in excellent shape when we moved in and Kent regularly checked in—without being invasive—to make sure that we had everything we needed for a good stay. The cabin was very comfortable: cozy, but certainly not cramped, and Lake Annabesacook is a remarkably serene getaway. We cannot recommend the location, people, and of course the cabin itself, enough.

The cabin on the little island is a wonderful place to rest, relax and enjoy nature. The cabin is very comfortable, has every thing you need, as long as you bring a cooler with ice. The loons were calling every night, a beautiful lullaby. The lake is crystal clear, fabulous swimming. Do bring water shoes, the shore is rocky. My husband forgot his but Kent graciously lent him a pair.

Not sure how to sum up three days of tranquility and joy into words, but I can certainly describe some of our top experiences:
- watching the sun slowly rise and fall over the horizon
- seeing our dogs live their best lives (leash-free lifestyle)
- harvesting and devouring fresh blueberries every morning
- fitting two humans and two dogs into a canoe without capsizing
- listening to the loons perform their nightly concert
- waking up with a hot cup of coffee and a cold swim
- learning again the importance of silence and stillness
Our stay on little cabin island was exactly what we needed to help us take a breath and reboot. Our advice would be to visit as soon as possible and don’t forget to bring ice and a whole lot of bug spray.

This is the perfect private island. Everything is so well thought out: from the ferry pick up to the hammock seats to the kindling already in the stove, Kent has thought of it all. Your mouth will drop along with your blood pressure the moment you see this lake
