Naughty Dog Private Island Log Cabin

Jo and Kent's island cabin was the perfect spot for a short getaway from Portland: so peaceful, easy to get to, great swimming and the cabin was really sweet. Jo and Kent made everything so easy: Jo greeted us the four of us when we arrived at the lake, helped us with our gear, gave us two canoes to paddle out with (and offered us a boat ride if we'd preferred) and even dropped more wood for us later that evening. She was also really fun and interesting to chat with - we definitely learned some great details about the natural history of the lake and surrounding area. Would absolutely recommend this place as an easy, beautiful adventure!

This was so peaceful and rejuvenating. I will definitely try to make it back here. I find the ocean can be a bit over rated especially when things like this exist on gorgeous clean lakes!

This was the perfect vacation! Joanne and Kent were great hosts, and really go out of their way to make the cabin comfortable. We really couldn't have asked for more. We can't wait to return for a longer stay!

Jo wa very welcoming, the description of the island and cabin was accurate. Everything about our stay was perfect. The little island provided us with peace and tranquility.

I had such a wonderful time all on my own for two nights on this little island. I wish I had stayed longer; the stillness of it all barely got the chance to kick in. The hosts are absolutely perfect, I felt so welcome. Jo used to run a B&B, and it shows. I'll definitely be back.

This is one of the place you wish you could stay forever. From the first email communication to the last shuttle back to the car, Jo & Kent were always there; responded immediately and helped out when needed. The place is exactly as described, and not only we humans but also our dog loved it. Pure nature: Great canoeing opportunities and endless swimming, plus bird watching and relaxing - thank you Jo & Kent for providing such a wonderful place. We'll be back!

Wow! What an amazing weekend we had thanks to Jo & Kent. Such a magical place, so well prepared and pleasantly set up...with everything we could have wanted. It was heavenly. Jo & Kent were incredibly generous, helpful, fun, and interesting. Without a doubt - we will be returning to Annabessacook lake and the little cabin! And the ice cream down the road WAS amazing! Thank you so much. :) we could not have had a better time.

We had a wonderful time on the little island! The cabin is clean and cozy, the lake was the perfect temperature and the views were lovely. Jo and Kent are lovely hosts and gave us just the right amount of privacy and availability. Our dogs were in absolute heaven racing around the island and splashing in the lake! The only improvement I might suggest would be to get the outside firewood off the ground or covered, it was very wet and very hard to burn which is kind of a necessity when you don't have any power. Other than that we were in absolute heaven, this was our first time in Maine and we can't wait to come back, thanks again to Jo and Kent for a great time!
