Jo and Kent were wonderful! Jo was really flexible about the start time and super communicative prior to our stay. Jo picked us up and ferried us to the island on their pontoon boat- it was so fun and we got to see some of the lake and learn about their big island across the lake! The cabin is so lovely- really nicely decorated to feel homey but very clean and comfortable. The bed is SUPER comfortable and Jo even brought a dog bed for our dog! We took out the kayak and canoe and my fiancee caught two bass! We grilled dinner on the campfire and had an awesome time! Kent picked us up the morning we left and showed us around big island which is an amazing project. They are both so kind and knowledgeable about the area. I wish we could've stayed longer but I look forward to coming back and seeing their progress on both islands! Really great people and an awesome place to stay!
Joanne and Kent were really lovely, they picked us up and ferried us across to the cabin island. The island's size is reminiscent of a planet from the little prince, and the cabin is very charming. Although there aren't running potable water or electricity, the hosts have provided amenities in leu, including bottled water, a cooler, lake water pump for washing dishes, gas lamp, gas stove, composting toilet, and sun warmed shower. If you enjoy simplicity and a little DIY, the wildlife, beauty, and secluded pleasures of this lovely little lake island make it very memorable.
