Words cannot fully explain this experience. It’s absolutely magical. From the moment you take a turn down the dirt road to get the parking lot, the 5 (more like 10) star experience begins. The owners are great and super friendly. They immediately greet you and help you with your belongings. They explain everything and then leave you alone with no questions about anything and nothing else to do but relax. We stayed on naughty dog island. Best way to describe this cabin and this island is: peaceful. We had a drink while watching the sun go down, went swimming, fishing, canoed to the big Island (15 min canoe ride), and cooked on the fire. They provide everything. Even a couple of small fans! The bed is soft and comfortable. There is an outdoor shower with hot water. We saw baby snapping turtles, loons, and all kinds of birds. A beautiful little slice of Maine that we will definitely be back to visit next year.
We took our pup to naughty dog island for a two night stay. It was a wonderful place to relax and unwind. There were many areas on the private island to sit and relax. Kayaks and canoes were provided for exploration of the lake. Kent was very friendly and helpful with loading and unloading luggage. He shared insightful information about the lake. Once we got to the island, he showed us how to work the sink, toilet and showers. The futons and beds were very comfortable. When we needed items restocked, Kent would ferry them out. We are looking forward to our next stay already!
It’s not easy to make an off-grid experience so comfortable, but Kent and his crew are a well-oiled machine. I’m into camping, my partner is into glamping—we were both very happy. The golden retriever is exhausted, and we are relaxed. Mission accomplished. We will return.
We had a wonderful stay on Naughty Dog Island. We ended up bringing our own boat which was a lot of fun, though it did require launching the boat in one location and parking the truck and trailer in another a couple miles away. Was easy to do, but did require an extra step and two people. Most importantly, our 5 month old puppy (and 7 year old dog) had an absolute blast running around the island, swimming alongside the canoe, and listening to the loons. Cabin is very comfortable!
We stayed on Naughty Dog Island and had a wonderful time. The cabin was so cute and cozy. Our dog was able to swim and run around off leash. We used the kayaks and canoe they had and I also brought my own SUP. We caught tons of fish and made s’mores over the campfire. The kids had a blast. It’s a great place to truly unwind and forget about the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We stayed a few days and wished we could have stayed longer!
Beautiful natural setting to make family memories. We loved our time on the island and our little doggo loved it even more. Fishing, canoeing and bird watching were our favorite activities. Thanks Kent and Heather for being great hosts!
We had a wonderful stay at the small island cabin. The setting was perfect for a relaxing getaway. Our dogs loved the freedom to roam and swim. It was a joy to watch them explore. Our daughter had an incredible time kayaking and picking fresh blueberries all around the island. Grilled steaks on the campfire was memorable. The cabin itself was comfortable and better equipped than expected. The Big Island was a short canoe ride away. Go for the hiking and the rope swing. Overall, the water was so calm and clear and perfect for swimming! Fishing in the early morning and evenings brought us such a sense of calm. An afternoon nap in the hammock out back was so relaxing and highly recommended.
Thank you Kent!!

What a great experience, we traveled through Maine and this was our favorite stop. Kent is kind and fabulous. Beds were great, the remote living was a dream. We chose to canoe in and that was the right call! Our stuff arrived on a boat. We saw lots of birds turtles and a bald eagle! It was awesome.
The views, the quietness, fishing, relaxing, friendly staff

Everything was great!
